Does domain registration age help your SEO rankings in Google?
The answer from John Mueller at Google is a hard Nope, as you can see in the second tweet below:
In another tweet, Mueller stated the common-sense reason clearly:
“Content doesn’t get better automatically just because it’s old.”
All that said, site age is often correlated with ranking signals like the quality and number of links pointing to your site. This, too, has a common-sense reason: more time online means you’ve had more opportunity to pick up those juicy inbound links.
So it would appear that wine and those uber-comfy jeans of yours are, still, the only things that always improve with age. ๐ท
