BuzzSumo ★♥︎

Online Content Curation

This is how you find the hottest trending content on the web. BuzzSumo is a “content curation engine” that tracks (social) engagement and a proprietary Trending Score for any published pieces on the web, allowing you to identify what’s working best on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and more. It’s one of the tools we use here at theCLIKK to help find and curate the best of the web for you, every day.

Soovle

Real-Time Comparison of Autofill Results

One of the best ways to do quick keyword research for SEO is to start typing a keyword into a search engine and noting the keywords that autofill under your query. The search engine is auto-filling a keyword for you because it knows that those keywords are often queried. Soovle is a keyword research tool that pulls auto-filled keywords from Google, Amazon, YouTube, and more in one place. Test it for yourself.

Keyword Shitter ★♥︎

Generator for Related Keywords

Not gonna lie, this tool is ugly in a Craigslist kinda way—and the name is obviously a little raw. But this is actually, no joke, a very good free keyword research tool. Once you enter a seed keyword like, say, ‘bathroom humor’ and click START JOB it will go and go and go. You can then download the list of keywords to a .txt doc (one of our favorites). While SEM Rush is probably our #1 keyword research tool, Keyword S***ter might be #2.

Anchor

Integrated Multi-Channel Podcasting

If you’re interested in podcasting (i.e. willing to invest your time), we have good news: you’ve just cleared the only barrier to entry. There are no other barriers thanks to Anchor. Anchor has covered virtually every base we could think of—hosting and distribution, creation and editing tools, analytics, monetization options, you name it—and every single bit of it is free, even the stuff that doesn’t sound like it should be.

Sans Bullshit Sans ♥︎♣︎

Copy Improvement Tool + BS Highlighter

There are plenty of tools that catch writing errors, and a few others that help improve your writing—but Sans Bulls#!t Sans might be the only tool that literally calls “bulls#!t” when your (otherwise correct) writing starts getting trite and pretentious. Marketers, take note: this tool can highlight which parts of your copy will curl the audience’s nose hairs, meaning it can help you hone your messaging and ads (potentially saving time and money in the process).

Quillbot ♥︎♣︎

AI-Powered Copy Paraphraser

If you’re gonna plagiarize, at least use a tool that hides it fairly well. While we certainly don’t recommend stealing other people’s copy (especially not ours), we do understand how you sometimes need a quick-and-dirty rewrite of a paragraph or two. We use Quillbot and we are very happy with it. Rather, we are using Quillbot and we’re very pleased with that. Actually, the truth is, we use Quillbot and we are very satisfied. 😉

🆓 Limited to 700 characters per “Quill” (paraphrase)
💰 $14.95/month for 10K-character limit, premium features (save 33% by paying semi-annually, 55% by paying annually)

Airstory

Collab-Friendly Multimedia Hub/Doc Editor

Copywriters and content producers, meet your new best friend. The quickest way to explain Airstory is that it’s Google Docs on exceptionally good crack. The slightly-longer explanation: the “document” is still at the center of Airstory, but to the side you have modules for your notes, images, and citations—and it’s way easier to keep things organized, both those individual pieces (just drag and drop blocks into place) and your content work as a whole (via the Projects system). Airstory’s collaboration is as open as Google Docs—and for 99% of Airstory users, it’ll be just as free too.

750 Words

Socially-Secluded Free-Writing and Ideation

750 Words was inspired by a book called The Artist’s Way which recommends three pages of free writing per day, or roughly 750 words. True, you don’t need another word processor—but what’s refreshing about this site is its angle and attitude. It’s focused on starting the habit and helping you do it for yourself, completely removed from public view and social shareability. The whole site, interface, and dashboard (there’s a dashboard with analytics!) reflects this core purpose. The only question left is what you’ll write!

📝 It wouldn’t be ‘free writing’ if we told you what to do, but we’ll mention again that marketers need to be doing Art, and this is the perfect way to train your inner artist on a daily basis.
