Last week, Google announced that they were having “indexing issues.”
The extent of those issues was unknown (they only said that the issue might cause “stale search results”), but Google has had troubles like this in the past.
Usually this means they’re having issues indexing newly-published content to the web. If you’re ever wondering if Google has indexed a new page, follow these steps to check:
(1) Type site:www.example.com into Google’s search box. No spaces. This asks Google to show only results from this domain.
(2) Click on Tools and change the time from “Any Time” to “Past Hour” or “Past 24 Hours” or whatever time frame you’d like to view. The results are the pages which have been indexed during that time frame.
